DBS Status
Individual Employers legally must request a DBS check on Personal Assistants that they hire if there are children under 18 living in the household. A DBS check must also be requested if the Personal Assistant will come in to contact with children under 18 on a regular basis, even if the children do not live in the household. Sheffield City Council strongly recommends that Individual Employers have the background of their Personal Assistants checked.
