We are looking for a reliable, understanding and supportive Personal Assistant for someone in Leigh.
There are 6 hours to be used Fridays 10am-4pm.

Hobbies and Interests:

They enjoy a wide range of interests including watching musicals, singing, board games, arts and crafts, going to the gym, walking and browsing markets. A PA who is happy to get involved in these activities and share these experiences would be a great fit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a varied role, providing support with both day-to-day living and community access. Some support will be work-related, including attending networking events, taking notes during meetings and providing practical assistance to help stay organised. There will also be opportunities to provide social support, accompanying to events and helping them build confidence in different settings.

The role can also include supporting with attending the gym, using public transport, collecting prescriptions, attending appointments, weekly shopping, meal planning and cooking, light household cleaning, staying organised, managing finances, reading and understanding important documents, and creating a hospital passport. The PA will provide advocacy when needed and be someone who offers a listening ear, encouragement and practical support to promote independence.

Required Skills

The ideal PA will be patient, organised, reliable and have excellent communication skills. They should be able to promote independence while offering practical support when required. It is essential that applicants are supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and committed to providing inclusive, person-centred support.

Experience supporting someone with epilepsy would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training in epilepsy, LGBTQ+ awareness and trauma-informed practice will be provided.

Driver required to go and do a big weekly shop. Public transport can be used getting into Manchester etc …
